| Die to Reborn A few days ago,
police in Beijing’s Daxing area
received an urgent report saying three
men were trying to bury a baby alive.
Upon investigation it turned out that a
newborn baby was serious ill but its
peasant-worker father could not afford to
send it to hospital for a speed recovery.
So he decided to send it to Ghost
King for a speed
reincarnation instead. Why prolong the
baby’s suffery? – Reckoned the
father. Die earlier, reborn earlier, and
next round it may find a well-off family
that would be able to pay for its
hospital fees when it gets sick.

1 Kilogram Notes
for Hospital
Fee
A 16-year old boy
living in a Sichuan village has suffered
serious kidney problem. When his father
took him to hospital on Tuesday, it
caused quite a stir at registration: all
the staff had to stop their work to help
counting the notes which weighted 1
kilogram all togetger, reported the local
medias. It is not that they paid much
more than any other patients; just their
payment is entirely made by small notes
from one-jiao to one-yuan (10 jiaos = 1
yuan, 1 yuan = 0.13 usd).
It happens that
all these notes are donated by the fellow
villagers - 5,500 yuans of hospital
deposit is just way beyond the capacity
of a humble peasant family.
In recent years,
many public hospitals in China are acting
like a private business cooperations. The
stories of some critically ill patients
being denied of treatment before paying a
full deposit and subsequently died in
hospital are heard from time to time. All
these are in the name of the spirit of
the free market.
