Quality of Living
in China
The first annual
research report on the quality of urban
living has been released yesterday at the
2006 Chinese City Forum Beijing Summit.
The survey, conducted by Beijing
International Urban Development Research
Institute, covers 287 Chinese cities.
It found that biggest
complaints among the residents in large
metropolitan areas are housing cost,
community safety and employment
opportunities, while to those living in
small or medium sized-cities high
property prices, lack of job security and
the shortage of entertainment facilities
are the major concerns.
The top ten
cities identified as having the highest
quality of living are:
1, Shenzhen (深圳), in Guangdong
Province
2, Qingdao (青岛), in Shandong
Province
3, Hangzhou (杭州), in Zhejiang
Province
4, Ningbo (宁波), in
Zhejiang Province
5, Shanghai (上海)
6, Wuxi (无锡), in Jiangsu
Province
7, Yantai (烟台), in
Shandong Province
8, Suzhou (苏州), in Jiangsu Province
9, Dongwan (东莞), in
Guangdong Province
10, Dalian (大连), in
Liaoning Province
Capital Beijing
is on the 14th spot.
