A
Chinese Boy Eaten Alive
by Family Dogs
September 1 was
the first day of a new semester of
primary schools in China. Ms Cui got the
new stationaries ready for her son, but
the boy would never have a chance to use
them. The nine-year old was eaten alive
by two family dogs the previous day.
Since more and
more Chinese adopt dogs as family pets,
the problems caused by dogs become acute,
particularly in densely populated urban
areas, with the incidents of dog attack
heard form time to time. In Hainan
Province, reported the local newspaper
Hainan Tequ Bao, dogs frequently sneak
into shops to enjoy air conditioning and
interrupt the business operation.

As this year’s
Moon Day falls in the National Day
holiday week in China, it is expected
that the tourist market will experience
one of the busiest seasons.
It is predicted
that this year Southeast Asian countries
could be the hottest travel destinations
for Chinese holidaymakers.
In the previous
years, travel price usually fell to the
lowest point during early and middle
September before a big rise from
September 20 until the end of the
so-called the Golden Week (黄金周),
around October 8. In this year’s Golden
Week, Moon Day is said will be the main
theme.
