where Zhang
Ziyi sits in a red
wedding sedan that lands on the shoulders
of sedan carriers? Imagine there are 600
such sedans lining up and marching along
the streets.
Well, this is the
scene in reality in Guangdong. On the
National Day, the wives of 600 couples,
including 402 pairs celebrating their
golden or silver anniversaries, and 198
newly weds, seated in red sedans for a marriage parade.

say it when he accuses someone of

2006 is precisely such a time.

is lunar August 15, the Moon
Day, or the Middle Autumn
Festival (中秋节) in Chinese
calendar. Due to some heavenly
circumstances that seemingly have
something to do with a double
lunar July factor (闰七月), by then the moon is said
to appear a bit rounder in the western
sphere than that over the eastern sky.
The Guangdong
Astronomy Society also predicted that the
full moon of the lunar August 15, 2006,
is going to be the most perfect in nine
years. Not only it’s gonna pop up
earlier than usual, but will be rounder.
Actually the moon
forever looks fuller one day after the
full-moon day (十五的月亮十六圆). And it is no
exception this year. The moon on October
7, Saturday, will be rounder than the
previous night. So the moon party is not
over after Friday. Stay tuned.
