A couple of years
ago, world-renowned illusionist David
Copperfield visited China and repeatedly had
his audience fallen under his spell with his
spectacular stunts. But not all of the local
people are impressed by the imported feat.
"His stuff is just plain fake,"
some kung fu men openly snubbed.
As Copperfield was
performing at the grand Beijing Capital
Gymnasium, in a humble suburban park, Mr.
Zhou Liang, a martial arts master, challenged
the King of the Magic with his Bone
Compression Gong and Turtle Breath Gong. He
freed himself from a rope wrapped tightly
around him by shrinking his body, and he let
audience bury him under the earth for a
lengthy period.
It is one of the rare
occasions when China’s top kung fu masters
come out to publicly demonstrate their
legendary exploits.
But it's not the
first time, and it’s certainly not the last
time. On 22 May this year, a man named Wu
Xizi once again executed the extraordinary
kung fu of Bone Compression in public before
the building of Nanjing TV Station.
He’s only 23
year-old, 1.71 metres tall and weighted 67
kilograms. The following photos show how he
crammed himself into a box that is just 60 cm
long, 30 cm wide and 40 cm high. ..
