Since
we knew each other, we developed some
kind of ... very close friendship. And
that is why we're not offended by
whatever he has done to us and, we
certainly never mind what he is doing to
others.
A cartoon by one of China's most
celebrated cartoonist Zhang Leping, portraying
what he observed in Shanghai streets and
reflecting the reality of his time: some Chinese
were just too happy to be conquered and enslaved
by the rich and powerful in the world, and the
foreign soilders in China behanved like true
conquorers and slave-owners. The cartoon was
published in 1948 before the establishment of the
Perpole's Republic of China.
