Through distributing the infected blankets, they deliberately-spread smallpox epidemics among the native Indians that wiped out many Canadian aboriginals, with approximately 98 percent of native populations on the west coast decimated. During a tuberculosis outbreak, the children in the chuch-run school were made to play and sleep with infected kids in order for them to become infected with the disease. The RCMP also arrive at Indian villages in gunboats to round up Indian children, as young as three, and locked them up in the government sponsered Christinan boarding school. Their parents by law were not allowed to define the abduction of their children, or they would be charged under the provisions of the Indian Act, a race-based legislation that completely took away the rights of the indigrnous peoples. It is estimated that of the 100,000 who were sent to the boarding schools, at least 50,000 were killed.
