A Giant Face Emerges from China Earthquake 5 July 2008
It seems when the powerful earthquake in Sichuan on 12th May destroyed existing natrual and man-made formations, it also created new landscape on earth. About a week ago, a group of Chinese scientists and volunteers voyaged into the quake-hit area to investigate the living conditions of pendas after the disaster. In the morning of 28th June, they descended to the bottom of a canyon and hiked along below the cliffs standing over 200m tall. In the group there was a high school teacher named Shen Ruofei (沈若飞), and when Mr Shen casually looked up at the towering rocky presence, he was at once spellbounded by what his mortal eye perceived: on the cliff face about 10m above the ground there was a giant human face, looked very much like that of celebrity giants on the Easter Island. Although being stunned speechless, Mr Shen was not rendered immobile, so prized photo evidence was taken. It is confirmed later on that the giant face was not there before the earthquake. Gee ...
