Forest Arts in China 23 July 2008 It is reported that over 18 percent of Chinese land are covered by forest, with total forest area around 175 million hecares. Deep in the woods that are largely free of the tangible marks of human activities, there are many mysterious creations, and the raw world are often enriched with delicate artworks.
According to the official figures, forest coverage in China grows by 1.2 percent or 1.81 million hectares yearly, which is the highest growth rate in the world. In less than three decades, Chinese volunteers have all together planted nearly 50 billion trees, with more that 50 million hectares of land reforested.
