UFO

Unidentified Floating Objects

11 Sep 2007

The UFO in a Chinese mountain does not stand for Unidentified Flaying Objects, but Unidentified Floating Objects.

It has long been whispered that Celestial Lake (天池) in Long White Mountain (长白山) is a home to some giant monsters. Some believe it, religiously; some don’t, also religiously, but most people just mildly curious, waiting to be convinced by evidence. Over the years, there are eyewitness’s testimonies heard, and dubiously blurred photo images to be seen, but beyond that, real hard evidence never materialise. Until now, or at least it is so claimed.

On the early Saturday morning, 8 September, local TV journalist Mr Zhuo Yongsheng ascended the southern slope of the mountain with a tour guide, intended to film the sunrise. The dawn broke at about five, when the first rays of sun reached the mountain range and reflected on the lake. At 5.26, an unidentified object floating in the water caught the tour guide’s attention and he in turn urged the journalist to take a look. The journalist turned to see the water, through the camera lens, and thus a 20-minutes short documentary on the legendary monsters was produced, while the ufos kept their commanding presence on the water surface for nearly one and a half hour.

According to Mr Zhou’s observation, the wet monsters not only have fins but wings. (Which shall make them both unidentifed floating objects and flying objects).

That morning, the monsters seemed totally in their element. Sometimes they skied in a row, other times they surfed in pairs, and from time to time they dived, leaving huge splashes on the lake surface. But at all times, the dark devils appeared to be well trained and highly disciplined, acting as if were under strict instruction.

The Celestial Lake is the biggest and deepest volcano stream in China, with the earliest written records of the Long White Mountain monsters dating back 150 years. But it is in recently 20 years the monstrous presence become more evident and frequent, especially since last month.

These dark devils are commonly described as having a tiny head, narrow neck and a bulky body, very much like what dinosaur would look like. Others would depict them in the shapes of a small boat, a water buffalo, a large dog, and a massive lid on a huge wok.
