Chinese
President Hu Jintao has a large contiguouce
fans among young Chinese at home and abroad,
and is often addressed on and off lines as 胡哥 (Big
Brother Hu), eventhough he is old enough to
be their daddy.
Though
some jarring sounds are heard, by and large,
the Chinese communities in Australia are
delighted to see Big Brother Hu touching down
under on the vast Kangaroo land hugging
little koalas.

Homess: "What can we do for you,
ma'am?"
Ladies:
"Weather, that has changed, we've
apparently lost the blue sky - see, we're all
in raincoats - can you help us to recover
it?"

We
need a bigger umbrella to help us all brave
the climate
China
Suit?
Western style suit
might look a bit boring, and certainly does
not help the Eastern men appear in their
best. But that's perfectly understandable -
its design is meant to reflect Western men's
physical traits not that of Eastern men.
So some Chinese start
to turn their old wardrobe inside out to seek
new inspirations in their traditional garments.
Traditional Chinese
gown (华服) cleverly uses a
soft and flowing style to emphasis the
flaxibility - the great strength in Eastern
character -while its generously wide sleeves
and the lower part of the robe neutralises
the Easter weakness in lacking of impressive
body mass.

Baccalaureate Gown
with an accent of traditional
Chinese scholary costum, proposed
by some Beijing University
students
Sometimes
however some folks mess up the old clothes.
A
Shanghai-besed designer, for instance, a half
dozen years ago renamed a Mongol/Manchu
outfit as Tang (Dynasty) Suit (唐装) and
found a dozen of top VIP volunteers to try it
out at the APEC.
Now
she's at it again. A couple of days ago, a
costum based on an old fashion statement with
a dubious background (some Chinese Netzens
calim it used to be kind of Japanese military
college uniform with its true origin in the
West) was presented by her as China's
national appeal "China Suit" (中华装).

Confined, stiff
and dull - it disregards the
strength of Chinese men's
physical quality but draws the
attention to their weakness

Suit? Really?
