Wake up to the Future, Baby

Prior to the Australian federal election, the Australian Conservation Foundation, an non-profit organization dedicated to the environment, published its ratings on the major Aussie parties' actions to address environmental threats.

Among the five in the list, Labor and Liberal/National are the major players, the Democrats appears to be on the way out and the Greens quietly creeps in, while the Family First is viewed by many as more a self-interested lobby group than an accountable organization on the national political stage.

Promoting economic progress at the heavy expense of environmental health is by no means to be a good economic management, as such a growth is unsustainable. You may have a quick collection of eggs by cutting open hens' tummies, but after that you will have no more eggs to harvest.

Below are some environmental issues used by the ACF to measure against the performance of some Aussie political parties:
